Reemployment and Eligibility Assistance (REA) Project

The Workforce Corp serves as the administrative entity for a $1 million Reemployment and Eligibility Assistance (REA) grant from the Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation. To date, MWC has hired and placed ten reemployment and eligibility assessment specialists to assist individuals who have exhausted their Unemployment Insurance (UI) benefits. The REA program deliverables include serving 2,500 Marylanders in need of job search assistance and career guidance. In 2011, Maryland’s REA program was honored by the U.S. Department of Labor as a national best practice.
